Is there a way to tell the App Store to ignore a specific update that it is trying to push on me? I have a set of Xerox Workstation printers installed for my work network printing system, but it requires a specific version of the software and a particular PPD. If I install the later version of the software then it will stop working.
The problem seems to be that I can't make the update nag go away. I have tried the "hide" feature that I found by googling, but I can't seem to make that work - no amount of telling it to hide actually does that, so I assume I'm not doing it right. Is there a command I can give in terminal that will make the App Store ignore the Xerox drivers? I didn't even install them via the app store and it's now taken them over.
It makes sense, I guess, that it would offer to keep them up to date but I very specifically do not want it to do that, so I'm stuck telling it "not right now, maybe tomorrow" for evermore now.
Please help me break out of this unending cycle!
