Hello MR

Is there a way to disable the Mac to pre log you in after an update?

This is what currently happens when there is an update available (on Sonoma).
  1. The Mac tell you that there is an available update
  2. You can decide to update now or later that night
  3. The Mac prompts you for your user password
  4. The Mac updates and restarts
  5. When the Mac has restarted, it's as if you have just locked your computer, i.e. your username is already there, and all you need to enter is your user password.
  6. After login, all the windows that were open prior to the restart are already open, including System Settings.
Call me anal and/or weird, I don't want steps 5 and 6 to happen. What I'd like is when the Mac restarts it asks for the username and password just like when you start up the Mac with the power button after a shutdown or when you selected Restart from the Apple menu, meaning that the Mac does not remember whatever user was previously logged in, and what was open. Is that something that can be done?

(Currently, when I manually restart, the checkbox to reopen running apps is always unchecked.)
