disable auto run on CD

Hi! I have a CD that opens a program on the CD every time I insert it. How can I disable that? The CD is read only. Thanks.

No, this doesn't work. The program is on the CD and it launches automatically when I insert it. It's not a music, photo or video DVD.

This sounds very strange. You used to be able to autorun CDs in the old version of Mac OS, but since OS X that's not been possible. The only options I'm aware of are the ones already mentioned under system preferences. What version of OS X are you using and can you give us any more details about this CD that might allow us to work out what is happening here?
