Disable CPU #1 of Intel Core 2 Duo in MacBookPro?

Is there a way to disable CPU #1 and use only CPU #2? I know how to disable a core and make the computer a single-core computer, but that disables CPU #2. I suspect my CPU #1 is faulty so i want to disable it. Is it possible?

Perhaps it would be good if you could write why do you think that one of your cores is faulty. It is extremely unlikely.

Crash reports seem to show CPU 1 is faulty but I am not sure.
