Disable FileVault for Clean Install?

I'm planning on doing a clean install by upgrading first, backing everything up that I need, then Erasing the disk and doing the Internet Recovery. I am currently using FileVault. Do I need to disable it before doing the Erase/Recovery or is it not necessary?
