Everytime a Hotspot is available, Finder opens a window that loads the start screen. I have, however, two problems with this.

(1) It just doesn't work for the Hotspots I most often use (I can enter my credentials but it won't connect).
(2) When I have a bad connection (what often happens) the Finder screen may be opened for a very long time. During that time, it can't be moved to the background.

Because of (1) and (2) I still use the webbrowser to connect (which costs zero extra time anyway, so another Lion feature that does more harm than good).

I still get this annoying Finder screen, however. Does anyone know of a possibility to disable this feature?

I have no idea what you're referring to. All I get is the window that shows the available networks, but that doesn't take any time to load. I'm guessing maybe you're actually talking about Safari? In that case, it has nothing to do with your computer, and all about the network you're connecting to.
