I have a UK iPhone on 1.1.4 that I unlocked and jailbroken using ZiPhone. I am on the Fresh network, it uses the T-Mobile network. It is a PAYG network. Everything has been working perfectly, and rather still is but I have a couple of questions.
I was at my friends house on Sunday. They have a Wireless Network there using WEP and the prior time I went there, they allowed me to use their network and save the WEP key so my phone would auto connect when I went there. I do not have EDGE username or password in my iPhone (it's just blank).
Everything was fine with the above on Sun. I was connected but the network must've gone down but I left it and then my phone got locked. I unlocked it a couple of minutes later and there was no warning the Wi-Fi had gone down. I noticed the wifi icon was gone and replaced with a square. I later found out that this is GPRS internet. I have automatic PAYG top up and it used 2 lots of credit being connected to the net this way (£20/$40 USD)!
1. Is there a way to disable this GPRS automatic connection to the net? I don't want my iPhone to connect to the internet like this (GPRS) if I leave Wi-Fi hotspots.
There was something else I wanted to ask but now I have forgotten what it is now I've just typed all this out!!
