Safari recently started requiring you to enter your password to add an SSL certificate exception.

I work in IT. I'm constantly connecting to devices with self-signed certs. I'm tired of entering my password.

Is there a way to disable this? Googling has turned up nothing (it seems nobody else is annoyed by this? Aiiigh!) and I don't want to have to use a different browser.

I believe that Safari stores certificates in Keychain now so you will be harassed for the password every time. You likely will need a different browser that still stores certificates itself. Or use an older version of macOS and Safari.

Or if you have a iOS device you can use something like MacID to help with authorization. The Touch Bar MacBooks let you skip typing your password as well.
