As in topic title – is it possible to disable HDMI video only, but not audio? I use an external display. When I switch the screen off using hot corner, audio dies too.

My current solution is using a black image as "screensaver" but it's not ideal as my monitor doesn't go as much black as dark grey. I have the speakers connected to the monitor and I would love to be able to disable just the screen and keep audio playing. Google and forum search don't seem to offer a solution like that...

If turning off video to the display also turns off audio from the display, then can you connect the external speakers to your laptop?

Please see this article, as it will likely resolve this issue for you. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201834
Sadly nope :(

I can, of course. It's just a matter of comfort. I have the external speakers connected to the monitor, so there's one less cable to connect when bringing the laptop over. I might start doing it though, for some reason it really bugs me when the screen emits even very mild light – even if I'm not in the room :p

Thanks for both suggestions!
