How can I disable my iPhone from showing the storage drive when connected to a PC. I think it violates privacy since anybody can see the photos on my phone when they connect it via the lightning cable.

Not completely sure what you mean but as of a few versions ago iOS asks you to trust the computer when plugged in and you have to unlock the device to authorise it. Hope that helps
If your phone is locked, even plugging in a USB lightning cable will do nothing...the phone contents are still locked.
