Disable Onboard Mic - Overriden Browser/Siri

Riddle me this. On the mic, I have the dial slider set to *off*.

If I use Siri, mic works regardless if it is off.
I test via QT - mic on slider off, captures no audio.

I accidently chose voice dictation in Chrome today and even with the slider still ~off~, dictation works.

Is there a definite ~off~ just short of opening her up

Disregard. It's not a chrome thing but a OSX thing.
