my macbook (and my previous macbook pro) work as i want; i've disabled everything in mission control. so, when, for example, i open an image in preview full-screen, quitting that app returns me to the main screen; no spaces switched (i have motion sickness issues).
on my new imac, i cannot get this to work. when i quit preview, the screen shifts rapidly back to the desktop.
i tried opening mission control while in full-screen, but i cannot option-click & remove that space (thought there would be an 'x' to click on).
any ideas? or is there a terminal command that would stop this behavior?
thanx ppl

EDIT: got it! duh... turned on 'reduce motion' in accessibility.
