I have an old iPhone 6 that I was planning on activating just the Wi-Fi and location services so I can slap it on my bike and use as a bike computer. The problem is that the down volume button is stuck, so it's always trying to turn down the volume and the volume indicator is always on the screen.

Is there a way to disable the physical buttons, or at least get rid of the volume indicator? I don't think I'll actually need them. I can listen to music on my actual phone, which I'll have stashed in one of my packs while I'm riding.

You could try to put a drop of 70% isopropyl alcohol around the button and let it work into the body. Then work the button to see if it comes loose.. The only other option would be to open the device and try to release the button from the inside. The buttons can't be disabled..
