Disable 'wake on AC power'?

I have a 2011 MBPro 15 inch. It goes into deep sleep to preserve battery, but if during that time the AC power gets switched on (and it is plugged in), the computer partially wakes up out of hibernation (with lid closed, the front light comes on), but then subsequently it won't wake fully when opened. I have to resolve the issue with a hard reboot.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable "wake on AC power"?
