Disabling 2 step authentication from Apple ID

Hello Everyone,

I am not sure which section to post this thread. I have iCloud accounts which I feel force me to use 2 step authentication. I realise this is for my own security. However, it does not give me an option to disable 2-step authentication.

I want to disable two step authentication using a mobile number because I am planning on not having a mobile phone for a while. I still want to keep my Apple iCloud accounts. So does anyone know how I can disable 2-step authentication and remove my mobile numbers from my Apple ID?

You can't disable 2FA, but you can change devices and telephone numbers:
