Disabling controls on phone-enabled headphones?

I have a pair of Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi headphones. Problem is, when plugged into my Macbook Pro, I'm always accidentally hitting the button (the one to answer calls, or pause/play) on the headphones and it's getting insanely annoying.

I can't at all find any preferences anywhere. But at some point, Apple built-in this functionality to OS X, I figure there has to be a terminal command or some kind of tweak to turn this off.

Any ideas??? Thanks!
