Hi all,

Just got my first ever mac, and loving it so far. One thing is annoying me though, the way the sidebar always pops up in preview.app when opening more than 1 image file.

I can choose to hide it, but as soon as I open a second image, it'll pop up again, taking up valuable space on my screen that I'd much rather devote to the image itself.

Does anyone know of a way of permanently disabling it? Perhaps a terminal command?

Many thanks, hope someone can help...

Even when I hide it, it pops up again when I open a second image. Try it yourself, seems to be the normal behaviour.

True dat...you can add a button into the toolbar that allows you to quickly toggle the sidebar. Choose View > Customize Toolbar.

True but I was hoping for it to be hidden permanently.

Anyone know of any possible terminal commands that will do the trick?

In Preview's preferences...

Does that do what you want?

I should have specified I was hoping to keep all my images in the same window. I of course have looked at the Preferences pane.

It's been bugging me for ages, no hacks or anything like that possible?
