Disabling the white light

Can I disable the white light that comes on when my computer screen goes to sleep? It's soooo bright in a perfectly dark room!

Don't know why you'd want to do that. It's one of the coolest things about Mac laptops!

However, if you aren't using the computer, then just shut it down. Problem solved.

i fall asleep to some shows on abc.com and have the screen turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity. i would hate to have sticky tape residue all over my macbook!

open it up and put a piece of paper or something to block the apple light

I put a small teddy bear in front of the MacBook light.

There is a way to do it...you need to figure out what "driver" sends the command for the light to do its thing when sleeping...probably someone who is a computer engineer might know.

Recent switchers ask me this all the time... and it's true, there should be a way to turn it off, but unfortunately there isn't one (as far as I know).

I usually just put my wallet or something like that in front of the light
