Disappeared Outlook messages

Dear forum users, just after I started syncing my new iPhone 3G with Outlook (calendars and contacts) I started to experiment strange behaviours with Outlook: when I quit Outlook and then restart it I am told that Outlook did not close correctly and needs to be recovered.

Then I've noticed that some mail messages are "hidden". I cannot see them in the Inbox folder but I can see them as a search result.

Can anyone tell me how to recover Outlook? I've already performed a SCANPST.
