This is a really strange thing that keeps happening on my desktop- it's not life-threatening but it's really annoying- if anyone can help I'd appreciate it!
There are several icons permanently on my desktop. They are all aliases, mostly to folders in my documents folder. This is how I stay organized, the important stuff goes on top.
One of these icons, just one, flickers every time I save a document in *any* program. Text, word, a graphic program, anything. It also flickers if I change system settings. Sometimes it also moves altogether, to a corner of the desktop so I don't see it.
Yesterday I moved all my icons around to re-organize. Every single one in a new desktop location. I thought this might solve the problem if the bad alias were just in the wrong spot somehow in relation to the other icons. But wrong, now when I save, it still does the same thing even though it's on the other side of my desktop. The icon that is in the same place it used to be, nothing happens to that one. So it's not *where* it is on my desktop, it's something about the alias itself.
So, I tried deleting it, making a new alias and renaming it, nothing changes!!
It's really weird. Technically this should have solved the problem, right? What worries me a little is that I don't know what it's doing, so couldn't it just disappear altogether one day? I'd like to know what's going on and if I can fix it. Can anyone help?
