Has anyone encountered this? I've been backing up some of my dvds using Mac the ripper then popcorn. Recently I noted I had 14 gig free on my imac but after burning a dvd (and importing some video to imovie) I realized that my space had gone down to 4 gig. I checked the imported video and that was only about 4 or 5 gig which left 9 gig that had been swallowed up somehow.
I cleaned out some of the hard drive, restarted and still no missing gigs. I then ripped a dvd to the hard drive, and then checked the hard drive and my space was back. I should have had close to 0 gig but instead I had the movie (7 gig) plus the missing space.
I burnt the dvd and then tried again later and had the same thing happen. Very confused...
Can anyone help?

Ok, now it's doing the opposite. It said I had 12 gig free but wouldn't allow me to burn the dvd because I needed the same amount of space as a dvd. Very confusing. Could it have something to do with importing video through imovie? Anyone have any ideas?
