Disappearing iCal

I have an odd iCal problem, all was well when i shut down one night, next morning iCal was missing from the dock so i dragged it back out of applications but when i opened it up all calendars had gone, the events are still there but i can't delete or change them and i can't create any new calendars. The strange thing is everything is fine in Mobile Me and my iPhone is fine. I have deleted iCal and reinstalled from the Tiger disc but still no luck and have re synced Mobile Me....any ideas anybody. Thanks
