I just realized AGAIN that Apple does AGAIN not do a good marketing with the 13 Mini, the same as the 12 Mini. I just checked the Amazon page and realized that on the Mini page there is nothing about the Mini. Just description of all the 13 line can do. Nothing AGAIN about how powerful and small and perfect sized for hands this 13 Mini is. How much uptodate hardware they put in such a tiny device. Like marketing it as the smallest flagship device available etc.

And even on their own homepage and shop they just say one sentence "and that all fits also into the 13 Mini". But nothing else as far as I could see it.

It almost seems as so Apple wanted the Mini line to fail.

Or they should replace their marketing division...

How can you sell a product which benefits you don't even promote anywhere.

People hear "Mini" and think "less hardware than normal 13". Can't believe we have that same discussion like last year. Sad.

Not really following you here. It's basically just the regular iPhone 13 but smaller, so I'm not sure what else you want them to say. People can clearly see it's available, so they can choose for themselves if they want a "normal" size or "mini" size iPhone 13.

It's not like Apple just started marketing phones. This isn't their first rodeo, I'm guessing they have a pretty good handle on what they do and how/why they do it.

The Minis are a niche product. Some of the coolest features are found on the Pro/Pro Max so that's where Apple concentrates their marketing. When they scale down the size they have to scale down some of the features.

I'd say 80% of the people look for three things: big screen, big battery and great cameras.

Mini only has one or those things. The regular 13 has all 3.

Makes sense why the regular 13 is the biggest hit. It hits all 3 of those customer wants at a fairly affordable price.

Sort of… but the regular 13 is the same size as the pro and has all the same features other than the telephoto lens, slightly different camera setup and software differences. The mini has identical everything to the regular 13.

They could easily have made a mini pro if they wanted using the regular 12 pro camera setup but instead they gave the 13’s last years pro max sensor and stabilisation.

I’m not sure Apple are hoping people don’t buy the mini though, otherwise they wouldn’t have updated it this year as much as they did over the 12.

the 13 mini is a fantastic mobile phone and music player, very under-rated. i'm getting the same battery life from it as my 12 pro, maybe even better. this is not surprising considering my 12 pro battery was down to 87% health already which puts the mAh capacity around the same as a fresh 13 mini anyway. not to mention the main camera is better and it fits in my pocket and i can use it with one hand!

Why are you disappointed though ? You know all about the mini yourself.

Apple has a clear hierarchy in mind with their iPhone lineup. They won't allow the regular iPhone or the Mini to eclipse the Pro.

I said the same thing last year, the mini is price too high. If it started at $599 instead of $699 it would sell better. Being $200 less than the 13 will get people to think about it. At $100 I don't think most people see any value in it and instead go for the 13 instead.
