I really wish they would make some changes to the TV store. In the new app, there's no more listings for the titles that are on sale and the pre-order release calendar is gone. I hope they bring those back in a future update. These are still there in the Windows iTunes store.

I'm not convinced that the TV app on macOS shows everything that used to be found in the iTunes app. For example, open the TV app on macOS and search for "Quest for the spear", without quotes of course. This search yields nothing on macOS. However, if you do the same search in the iTunes app on iOS you will be presented with the feature length movie entitled "Quest for the spear".

Totally agree. I find it almost unusable. I buy my stuff on my iPad or iPhone because I feel the experience is far better. I can actually browse and find the things I want or didn’t even know I wanted. I use it to watch shows/movies only but definitely not to buy.

DAMN!!!! That's crazy when the store is something that makes money for Apple! Glad that I haven't upgraded to Catalina!
I use my Mac for ALL of my iTunes Store shopping for film and the 'pre-orders' section is my most used piece!!!!!!!
Apple really need to get their act together!

Oh yeah, I forgot that everything remains intact on the iPad and iPhone. Hopefully it stays that way.

In Catalina do you have the store switched on in preferences?
It seems so weird that things are missing in the tv app in Catalina when I look at my iPhone X running iOS 13 and I see preorders etc in the TV app along with the iTunes Store app which seems identical in layout to my Mac running High Sierra.

On the ABSOLUTE plus not - we are only three months away from WWDC so there will be a new Mac OS on its way and hopefully this will be a refined OS.

The pre-order section is still there ("Top Pre-Orders" -> See All). The problem is that it can no longer be sorted by release date like in iTunes. It always seems to sort by popularity.

But I agree that the TV app leaves a lot to be desired compared to iTunes, and not just the Mac version. What I really miss is an option to only see content that I actually have access to (through subscription or ownership). Instead what you get is essentially a giant advertisement for stuff you can buy, and finding stuff among the clutter that you can actually watch is difficult.

OH Fab! Thanks Rigby! I'm a HUGE fan of the Pre-orders section - In fact just pre-ordered three today - End of the Century, Waves and The Last Black Man in San Franscisco :) The last two coming from the amazing A24 Studio :)

I agree that there's too much clutter - very unlike Apple - on the TV app - on my iPhone under Watch Now, I can scroll down and it lists BBC iPlayer, 5 and Ch 4 content even though i've never watched anything from those channels as their content most certainly does not appeal to me. There needs to be options where you can untick things that you don't want eg Kids - not applicable to me as I don't have children etc.

Apple need to go back to the drawing board with the TV app and look at their ethos and beginnings and everything that Apple stood for and get rid of the mass clutter. Right now it looks as though the boys from Amazon have been let loose on it! And that's not a good thing!

Yes, but that's for the music app. The "Store" in the TV app is severely lacking specifics.
