Hmm...I guess I should of heeded the warnings regarding the Express34 esata cards for MBP's. I knew about the possibility of instability..but I thought the performance tradeoffs would be worth it.
Some rough benchmarks, transfering a 7 gig file.
All using 7200RPM external hard drives/drive docks
USB: ~20 MB/S up/down
FW 400: ~ 30MB/S up/down
eSATA: ~ 40MB/S up/down (peak was a bit higher, sometimes lower when programs used)
Seems less than stellar. Is it just me? Or is the issue a drive bottleneck rather than the interface?
