Hey guys this is my first post here. I've been reading around trying to find a way to backup my dvd collection. My roommates scratch all my discs anytime they use one so I thought it would be a good idea to back them up. I am using Mac DVDripper Pro to along with the free software "Burn". I'm very new to this so it could be completely user error, but every time i attempt to burn the items to the DVD I get the error message "The disc drive failed to respond properly and cant recover or retry". I'm not sure why this is happening. I haven't had any trouble reading discs or burning cd's so I'm not sure where the issue is. The video file I'm attempting to burn is larger than the disc capacity, but I thought "Burn" would compress it to fit the disc. I might be completely incorrect on that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
