I recently downloaded Transmission, and whenever I open the program, the disc image mounts on the desktop. I can't eject it until I quit the program, and then it always pops back up when I reopen the program.
Any idea how to make this stop happening?

Copy the program from the disk image to your Applications folder. You didn't actually install the app yet.

I have done that.
I open the disc image, drag the icon from there into my applications folder, then eject, and it still happens.

Maybe this would work: right-click on the dmg and select "Compress 'Transmission.dmg'" (whatever the dmg name is), then discard the dmg.

Trash the dmg. You have a link somewhere that keeps trying to open the version on the dmg.

Did you remove the Dock icon you had from before and then re-add it after installing to /Applications?
