I have alum macbook trying to play family guy dvd and get this message
the disc region does not match the drive region
the drive region must be changed to play this disc

what does this mean

DVD's are released in different areas and are 'coded' for those areas. It's kind of like the different between PAL and NTSC.

Not sure if you can do it on the Mac, but you can change the drive a few times.

Where's your macbook from/where're the DVD's from?

If both answers are the USA, just goto the DVD player preferences and set the computer to region 1. Mine asked me to set the region the first time I played a DVD.

ok got it to work what would be the best way to copy a dvd to my mac?
