So I was told by APPLE GENIUS'S to run my disk permissions and disk repairs...to make it a run a bit better...

So i have on all my old macs and my MACBOOK..

I just bought an 24' iMAC and decided to run the permissions and repairs....

and i got a response i have never gotten before....

I ran the whole thing again and i got the same thing....

I'm concerned with it cause i get the same thing on my MACBOOK...and my macbook is completely wiped...it only has iLife '09 and Leopard on it...and any software updates...

i have no idea what it is...i spoke with an apple genius...and he suggested an erase and install...

which i did with my macbook and got the same thing...

does anyone know how to fix this? is it an issue...?

i have never gotten this until about a month ago...

Did you run Disk Utility from the Mac or from the Leopard Install disc?

The thing is, you kinda don't want to run Disk Utility from the disc itself, because that's just a temporary fix. If you want it permanent, use the install disc.

Another thing you might want to look into is running Disk Warrior. The Genius Bar should be able to do that for you.
 
Those are harmless errors. Disk Utility is expecting a regular file and finding a symlink instead (the first character, 'l' indicates it's link).
