My friend has an used iPhone 6 Gold 64 GB in very good condition.
I don't think anyone would be interested in buying a decade+ obsolete mobile.
What else can be done with it ? Will Apple Store exchange it for anything ?

Consider donating it. To somebody with no device, it's still viable as a phone and iMessage device. My organization accepts devices of this age, teaches people how to fix them (battery and screen replacements), and they keep the phone to use.

Someone will always want whatever it is you’re trying to give away or sell, fact of life.

Your friend friend should do the exact opposite to what I did...recycle it with Apple.

Unless it has some sentimental value or can be used as a WiFi remote for Home perhaps?

You see, I still have my OG SE from 2016, was meant as a "backup" in case the Mini 13 fails, was meant as a "WiFi-only play phone" for my kid, who got an android phone with a humongous screen instead. The 6S and OG SE pretty much share tech. If software supports function then perhaps it can still be used as an emergency secondary device, to take to the beach and not worry about its loss too much?

Either way, my SE won't be going anywhere outside of my home...unless...who knows.

We gave our 6s and 4 to a local computer store . They clean up the phones and donate them to a charity. I sometimes think it might have been good to keep one as a travel phone should we take a trip into the USA but as a Canadian, that is highly unlikely right now.

I use older iPhones for music. Rather than giving them to Apple for free, I’d rather use them as music devices.

I use an iPhone 6s and an iPhone 8 for music.

I use my iPhone 8 as a WiFi only media device. I watch a lot of YouTube and shows from other streaming services on it along with Apple Music and Podcasts.

iOS 16 feels like it’s still fully supported and everything works as expected, even Safari works perfectly fine.

iPhone 8 on iOS 14, exact same experience.

It feels like it’s fully supported.
