Lard
This application is part of the MacHeist bundle. It burns CDs and DVDs. The interface is a little unusual with the translucent, smoky dialog boxes which are somewhat reminiscent of the 1970s with all the similarly coated plastic.

It seems to work okay, having written to two different CD-Rs without asking me for assistance in splitting the files.

I've included a couple of screenshots. No, I didn't add the smoke. This application is to disc burning application as Shiira is to web browsers--interesting and a bit bizarre.

I'm really digging it, and at first I hated it on principle of an "eye-candy" useless burner.

But it has been a lot more stable than Toast for me, or even the "Burn Folder" way, and burns this lousy DVD-R's that I couldn't get to burn elsewhere.

And I'm a sucker for the smoke ;)

Presumably this wouldn't help my iMac when it refuses to burn because (apparently) it's too hot.
