iPod discolouration on ipod earphones

Hey guys and dolls,
Has anyone found their ipod earphones discolouring after some short term use? My earphones are starting to turn purple for some reason. The earphones came with the 5.5g ipod video

i found q-tips help clean my ears, thus keeping the buds cleaner

i honestly don't know how the white buds would be turning purple. that's a good one.

Take them to the apple store. I had a ear bud blow out and they just swaped them for me on the spot. They have a bunch of em in the back

I've had some discoloration but it usually occurred after a pen exploded/leaked in my pocket.... Unless something you're leaking purple out of your ears, I so no reason for the discoloration other than ink in your pocket.
