I have a server that I used for years to server up my iTunes library. I also use it to backup my NAS drive to an online service (12TB). Well, after 6 months of uploading it finally finished uploading and now just uploads updates. BUT now that the network drives aren't in continuous use they disappear after awhile.

Anyone know how to make them stick so that they don't automatically disconnect? I read that there is a bug in the new SMB protocol that does this, so I should use cifs instead of smb when mapping, but that does the same thing.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking of just creating a cron job to access each drive every 10 minutes or so (simple ls or something like that) but that seems like a hoop I'd rather not jump through (but will if I can't find another solution).

Any suggestions?
