now that the 2016 MBPs are out, is there anywhere to find current deals and discounts on the 2015 models? In general have there been deep discounts on previous gen MBPs after a new refresh?

There are no deep discounts, but you can find them still for sale on Amazon.com, BH Video and they may now be in the refurb store at apple.com

13" 2015 MBPs are not discontinued. The Apple refurb store typically sells discontinued models for a couple hundred dollars less as soon as new model refurbs appear, so figure at least 3 months for a 15" refurb with a good deal.

Because of the major price increase of 2016 models, I wouldn't expect to find good deals on 2015s on closeout. Full price, they now look like bargains!
