Discounted Mobile Me (UK)

A quick search has thrown up nothing about this already here so...

I was in the Apple Store today and out of the corner of my eye I'm sure I saw a notice saying that there was a £15 discount on Mobile Me when bought with any Mac or iPhone.

Now firstly, did I dream this or can anyone else verify it? I can't see anything obvious on the Apple website. And secondly, what about us poor upgraders if it is true. For £45 I'd give it a shot for a year.
 
Its true. They always had the same offer on with .mac too.

I'm starting to get sick of mobileme now. All the service outages one after another are really starting to be a pain in the ass.
 
Oh you have got to be kidding me... I thought that offer was only valid if you bought a Mac, if I'd known that it also applied to new iPhone purchases I'd have gotten that when I travelled over to the Apple Store in Glasgow. gah!
 
This service ranks alongside the Mighty Mouse in my special "worst products Apple has ever sold" category.

Don't bother - you can get all of its functions for free online.

Don't lump MobileMe in with Mighty Mouse!

(P.S. I may be one of the only people in the world that loves their Mighty Mouse)
 
Well I signed up for the free trial and it's pissed me off already! It's managed to delete all the names of my contacts so I'm left with a pile of numbers. Not a great drama but I'm out and about and have no clue who is who. Can just about recognise my home phone number!
 
I'm someone who actually quite likes MobileMe (and liked .Mac as well, despite its faults) but never got the opportunity for an extra year at a cheap price as an O2 upgrader.

Has there been any generally offering of a discount?

(And what is wrong with the Mighty Mouse?)
 
I'm actually quite pleased with MobileMe (despite my email problems with it).

However, with the contacts, I keep them all on Outlook (Windows) anyway so if they did mess up and delete all the names, then I could always just sync with Outlook and it will be fine.

I'm still unsure about paying the full price when the trail runs out.
