Autodesk Media and Entertainment Division (formerly known as Discreet)
is rumour to release their two top Compositing turnkey solutions for the Mac.

Until now they are running on the SGI IRX plattform, Flint the small version is currently running on Linux using IBM-Intel hardware. They also produce two Video/film editors Smoke (IRIX, Linux) and Fire (IRIX).

Apparently an insider, has disclosure that the new cersions of their system could run on both PC(Linux) & Mac.

If indeed this happen, the video industry takeover by Apple will be almost complete, only missing from a total domination are the Avid Adrenaline, Nitirs systems...

If that's true, it's definitely good news for the Mac. It's hard to believe something like that without a source, but I guess this is MacRumors.

irix?

Its been 3 versions since it ran on Irix. They have all been running in Redhat linux since version 9 or 9.5 and HP workstations for nearly 5+ years
