So like every other mac lover in the world I went online right after the WWDC Keynote and checked to see if I was eligible for a discounted iPhone 3G. It said I was a valued customer and could purchase the phone for $399/$499. I did not like the sound of this. I later called AT&T and asked them if I was eligible. They said that I was a valued customer, and that they could offer me an iPhone 3G at the $199/299 price. I asked them why online it said that I was not eligible for the discounted price. She said that I have to either go into an Apple Store or a Corporate AT&T store (Aka your run of the mill AT&T store) to be eligible for the lower price, and that if I purchased it online, that I was not eligible. I am not sure if this is correct, but I encourage you to call AT&T and ask about this. She even repeated to me that if I purchased in a store that it would be $199 for a 16GB, and 299 for a 32GB, and $399/$499 Online, respectively.
I guess that AT&T is having some compassion after-all but I don't bet that this will be the case come release day!!!
