Thinking of buying an Iphone 4 to replace my BB9700 as it is rubbish. Unfortunately I am locked into my contract till the new year. Is it worth waiting till the new Iphone 5 is released so the price of the iphone 4 will drop or is it not likely to have huge impact on the price ?

If Apple continue with the previous behaviour one iPhone 4 model will be retained as the bottom-end (the current 3GS position) and the iPhone 5 will replace the iPhone 4.
I had the same phone, I did the same thing. Couldn't be happier. Yes, the price for the iPhone 4 will almost certainly go down when they release the iPhone 5, but don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to buy the iPhone 5 instead! It's probably going to be compelling.
