Dish Network Or Direct TV on Imac 27" with MDP Converter

I know some of you guys have successfully connected your PS3's and Xbox's to the new Imac 27" with the proper converter, (Dr Bott, Belfan etc.) but I haven't been able to find any comments or videos about whether or not these converters work with satellite receivers. (Dish or Direct TV) I figure they should work, since most receivers have HDMI out, but I would love some feedback on picture quality. Any comments would be appreciated.
