Disk Doctor unable to scan hard drive

I've already tried searching for this issue. When I launch Disk Doctor, it says that it needs access to my drive to continue. However, I'm unable to choose to let it scan Macintosh HD. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, my computer shuts down unexpectedly daily when I close it and unplug the power cord. Did anyone else have this issue and got it resolved? I have the late 2013 retina macbook pro.

Disk Doctor that come with Windows? If so it likely can not scan a Mac HD.
