A long time windows user I have just started out with a new Macbook Pro:)

Time Machine,
I understand that it auto backs up regularly, but is that just the data that is backed up, or the whole system. I got used to using Acronis, and its full disk images saved me a many times over the years. Sadly Acronis does not make a Mac version, is there something that takes disk images for macs or does Time Machine do it all.

Thanks in anticipation

Time machine backs everything up - system and documents etc. You can restore your system from a Time machine backup.

For disk imaging - a bootable backup you can use either Superduper or Carbon Copy CLoner. Both are great progams.
