Disk Inventory X Showing Space Used But Trash Is Empty

I am trying to free up space on my startup disk. Disk Inventory X is showing these blocks in the trash that I deleted but when I click on trash they aren't there!

I haven't used Disk Inventory X in years... Perhaps worth grabbing DaisyDisk in the Mac App store (its very similar) but perhaps a bit more up to date!

I prefer and use OmniDiskSweeper. It will provide a sorted list of what's consuming your space.

I never liked how Disk Inventory X presented the usage.

It gives you a NON-graphical display of what's on the drive, showing space used as well.
