I am trying to resize an external firewire harddrive, but the drive does not seem to be cooperating. Whenever I try to resize the partition with Disk Utility (whether it be from my computer, from another computer, or from the Leopard DVD), Disk Utility will run for a minute or two, then completely lock the computer. No response with keyboard and mouse, closing the lid does nothing, disconnecting the drive does nothing. When I kill the power and reboot, I get the blah blah OS X had a kernel panic dialog. Is there any way to fix the partition?
