Hi,

I'm running OC/Monterey and noticed something to do with disk usage. Please see image attached

Look at the folder "useofweapons"

It says it contains 97,67 GB, but if you add up the size of all the sub-folders it's no where near that size, so where has all the space gone?

Download DiskWave from here:
It's small in size and free.

Open DiskWave and go to the preferences.
Put a checkmark in "show invisible files".
Close preferences.

The DiskWave window shows you all your volumes and drives in plain English (no ridiculous graphical formats).
Click on any item "on the left". Give it time to "digest".
Now, look to the right, you'll see what's ON the volume, listed in order of "largest to smallest".
You can easily locate what's eating up your space.

Thanks I got that, then I was reminded that I have a script I usually run on a new install, that set some Finder defaults, so this is what I wanted:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles true
killall Finder

DiskWave looks like a valuable tool though
