Hey Guys.

I'm having a bit of trouble with Disk Utility this morning.

I'm trying to create a new .dmg from a CD, but whenever the process begins, without fail, i'll simply get a "Unable to create .dmg. In/Out Error"

In looking around it appears to be something about disc utility not liking a disc, and I've basically read that it will not work using disc utility.

So my question is: Is there an alternative to Disk Utility that I can use to creat a .dmg from a CD?

Thanks!

It sounds more like a problem with the disc than with Disk Utility. Can you verify the disc?

If you want to create a copy of a CD, you will be making a .cdr instead of a .dmg file.

When using Disk Utilities, click on the CD, which should be mounted, then select NEW IMAGE then select CD/DVD master.

Edit: Toast is an alternative.
