Good afternoon,
I recently got the error that disk utility cannot repair time machine. My time machine is on an external hard drive and is displaying with a yellow icon (normally it's blue). I've gotten the error messages 'couldnt verify' (invalid mode structure), "could not unmount" and "disk utility can't repair this disk. back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed up files".
I had to start a backup of files on time machine to Crashplan, which I'm not even sure will back up my movies and videos.
my macbook pro has 10.6.8 OSX. processor: 2.26GHz intel core 2 duo. memory: 2 gb 1067 MHz DDR3.
my external hard drive is a seagate 2TB FA Goflex desk media.
I am starting at square one as I couldn't make heads or tails out of similar postings on this topic. I am afraid some files i downloaded recently might be the culprit. Any advice you have would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you!!!
