I have this imac late 2009.

Starting up with question mark and stops there.
It also have blue vertical stribes which indicates GPU error.
( I know how to fix that, but want to be sure the rest works before that).

Have a high sierra boot USB dongle

Booted up and choose disk utility

imac could not see my harddisk.

removed disk and put in a SSD disk that I know works.

Booted up again on high sierra

Disk utility can still not see any harddisk.

beside a faulty cable what else could be the problem?

If it's cable to harddisk, where do I find "the other end" of the 2 cables in the disk?
(power and data).

Before you spend another dime on it, consider its age -- might be time to start looking for something else.

I know... but for my use its perfect. have another and there is no better PC for daily use.
A PC that looks nice on table :)

Certificate problem... I read something about certificate ran out in nov. 2019

I will get and create new installer and try again

maybe change / check clock

[automerge]1581880565[/automerge]
date changed to sep. 3 2019
And install goes on with no error... :)

So it was the certificate problem from october that was the problem.
