I'm a musician who just installed Yosemite, after discovering that my soundcard's software doesn't work on Yosemite (major bummer) I used a Time Machine-backup to restore my computer to Mavericks. It worked as it should, but now i can't open Disk Utility. The icon is greyed out with a symbol over it, indicating it doesn't work. When i try to open it i get a window saying "You can't open the application "Disk Utility" because it may be damaged or incomplete".

Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried restoring the app from Time Machine and also booting in recovery mode and repairing permissions as well as repairing the disc. No luck.
