Right, I'll hopefully be getting Leopard on Friday and would like to take the opportunity to start OS X afresh with a fresh install rather than an upgrade.

Now I have about 200gb of space on a hard drive in my system that I'd like to partition as HFS and copy my existing Tiger install over to. The problem is its a bit messy at the moment following an attempted install of Linux. First off, how do I erase, format and partition the hard drive so as *not* to lose the contents of the COMMON partition (see attached screenshot)? I really don't want to do the wrong thing and mess it up - I'm tempted to boot into Windows just to do the partitioning since I don't quite trust Disk Utility.

Secondly, I already have Windows installed on a partition on my primary drive. I'd rather not have to reinstall Windows since its an absolute nightmare to do so and takes forever (updates etc). I could do it if need be but it would mean spending hours sifting through and backing up downloaded games such as C&C3 that I purchased as an online download. Does Leopard allow you to install itself in a partition without destroying an existing Boot Camp install?
