Just noticed this now. I have 256 GB total, 50 GB used, 200 GB available. Why is my Disk Utility showing the reverse of what's used and available?

I noticed this when installing a game in Steam. Steam is reporting what Disk Utility is reporting but m,y actual disk space is a lot more.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a bug in High Sierra?

Can you post a screen shot? Mine seems to be correct

Probably a lot of time machine cache, that should be freed automatically as space gets low.

I noticed that my missing available space is considered "purgeable"...could this have anything to do with "Optimize Storage" or my Time Machine cache?

Could be, I guess.
